There are RV Parks and Parksville Motels located close to Parksville Beach and Parksville community Park which features a public tennis park , skate board park and a fantastic playground for the kids featuring a water park. Things to do just West of Parksville
Within a half-hours drive you will find some of the most spectacular provincial parks on Vancouver Island.
Englishman River Falls can be found off the Port Alberni Highway en route to Coombs. It offers a scenic hiking trail following alongside the Englishman river. For a more challenging Hike and even more Spectacular Falls visit the Little Qualicum Falls which can be found on the Port Alberni Highway just east of Cameron Lake. Cameron Lake itself offers a great picnicking area with a public beach area. Continue on this same Highway and just past Cameron Lake you will pass through MacMillan Provincial Park . Here you can check out Cathedral Grove and experience the oldest and tallest trees in the Province of BC.
Things to do North of Parksville
Just an hours drive north of Parksville on the main highway, you can spend a relaxing day a Spider Lake Provincial Park. This offers a picnicking area and public beach where you can enjoy some of the warmest local waters to swim in. In this same area you can drive past Horne Lake and reach the Horne Lakes Cave Provincial Caves park and explore some natural cave on your own or take a guided tour during the summers.
